Over a three-year period from 2017 – 2019, Teaching Schools across the South East will be working together to develop a range of networking opportunities for women leading in education. The Teaching Schools will establish a regional network for all women working in any role in schools who are ambitious for their next career step. The name chosen for the project - SOAR - reflects its lofty aspirations. A Twiter account has been established @soar_se and a new website will follow shortly at www.soar-se.org.uk.
The project will provide networking opportunities, coaching, information and guidance on a face-to-face basis and online.
This is an exciting opportunity for Teaching School Alliances to work on a regional basis to address some of the barriers that often inhibit women from fulfilling their leadership ambitions.
The project will be lead by three project leads drawn from three of the nine South East sub-regions - East Sussex, Milton Keynes and the Solent/Isle of Wight area.
To ensure that the project reaches leaders in all parts of the region, the Project Leads will enlist the support of a Project Champion in each of the remaining six sub-regions - Kent and Medway, West Sussex, Hampshire, the pan-Berkshires, Surrey and Oxfordshire. Project Champions will ensure effective communication between the regional team and each local area. In the early stages of this project.
